One project down...

If you all didn't know, I LOVE interior design! I watch HGTV constantly and always have all these ideas in my head of things I want to do to my house. Kylin's room was the only one I have been allowed to paint so far in our new house. Except I painted a green accent wall downstairs. So anyway, I painted Ky's room about 3-months after we moved in, but I have been wanting to paint stripes, and finally I did it! Now her room is all done. WAHOO. It's very happy and springey (is that a word) She loves it too. She doesn't care much about the stripes but, she really loves the huge butterflies on her wall. She always points to them and gets excited. It was not very expensive to do this room because I made a lot of it or painted it. Now, I am in the process of making Mckay a space room...hopefully I will be done with that in the next couple weeks. And our bedroom is next :) Our downstairs is pretty much done, just some accents and a few things I want to do to the kitchen...but that will come later when we have money :)

Behold the stripes! You can't see the sheer curtains very well but, they have butterflies on them. I made all the bedding (except the sheet) and the curtains and the throw and pillow. It was lots of work but, it was really fun too.

We had to take the rail off her crib cause she kept climbing up the side and I was afraid she would fall out. So now she kinda has a big girl bed.

The saying on the wall says "I didn't ask to be a princess...I just am!" We got that dresser for only $50 and I LOVE IT! It is really pretty close up and has NINE drawers. We just put a changing pad on top.

These are Ky's favorite butterflies. I didn't paint them...they are "wallies" I made the table clothes and the lamp. The coloring in this picture makes it look orange, but really it is more of a yellow tablecloth...matches the dresser and sheet :)

What would the room be without the cute girl! :)

A tiny moment of her holding still...VERY rare.

Ky has started making the weirdest faces when she sees that I am taking pictures! She squints and does weird stuff to her lips. It is so funny and impossible to get a normal picture. maybe she thinks if she does it then I will stop taking pictures of her...like that is gonna happen!

What a weirdo!

She is so beautiful! (And hysterical! I love her crazy faces!) Livvy's room is also purple, green and yellow, with butterflies and fairies. I love how sweet and girlie it is.

it is super cute! i love the stripes! i think that they really add something to the room without a lot of money. (a lot of work thugh)
i have yet to paint any rooms in my home either. they were already painted and they do already match my furniture-but this summer-everything is gonna change! Kitchen, master bath, master bedroom, 2 kids room and maybe,if i am really really good-my husband will paint the family room. I highly doubt this.

LOVE the room and I LOVE Ky's faces- oh man I was laughing so hard. I long for the day when I can plaint. Anna has flowers on her wall right now and she too points to them whenever she is waking up. I am impressed with the curtains - the sheer thing is very Pottery Barn. I am also impressed that Ky will stay in her crib. If I took Anna's down I am positive she would just read books all night and never go to sleep :) When we finally buy a home I am going to have to 'consult' with you before I start decorating. YOu definitely have a nack for it!

How did you do the stripes? I wish I could paint SOMETHING in my little place. In 3 years...maybe if we finally get a little starter house, then I can let my creative juices flowing again. Until then, Im stuck looking at white walls. Very awesome job with her room. LOVE IT. And love Kylin's faces. What a beautiful little girl you have.

I love her room! I almost did stripes in Mya's room, but it takes a lot of work! How long did it take to do all of the painting? It looks so good. I'm trying to think of what to do in Carter's room now. Any good ideas?
