Mckay's Birthday

Saturday, August 30, 2008

My little man turned 4 on the 26th...I can't believe how fast the time goes! He wanted a froggie party, so of course he got one :) I have to warn you there are TONS of pictures! So here goes...

THE CAKE
All the frog cake pans were like $40, So I decided to just make one from scratch. It is a circle pan and a square pan...cut. licorice mouth and googlie eyes.

Blowing out the candles...it is so much fun now that he understands birthdays and gets so excited for them.
THE PARTY CREW
We had the Howe's over on Sunday to celebrate. Thanks everyone for coming and for driving all the way down here Stac, we were so glad you could come. Mckay wanted Pizza for dinner, so the Howe's brought Papa Murphey's pizza & salad. That is the nice thing about living next to family...he gets to celebrate his birthday like 3 times!

"Heavy, Heavy hangover thy poor head...what do you wish with a bump on the head?" After Mckay got bumped on the head by all his presents he had to make wishes for the people giving them to him. He gave all the wishes himself this year with no help at all. For most people he wished them toys, but Keri got a special wish he said, "I wish you wouldn't pick your nose!" Hmmm...I wonder how many times he has heard that from us! Mikey also got wished a "human" instead of a toy. What a weirdo Mckay is.

We have him his cute batman Pj's the night before and he LOVES them..he had to wear them for his party. The Howe's also got him Clothes, shoes, binoculars, and glow in the dark stars...his room looks awesome by the way!
THE REAL BIRTHDAY
We let him open all his presents right when he woke up. It was so fun cause he was so excited. We even had a little dolly present for Ky so she didn't feel too left out. Mckay played with all his new toys till lunch, and then we took them to McDonalds for a happy meal and to play in the playground.

Drums...he was really excited but, I still don't know if I am.

His presents were: Drum set, Buzz dart gun, Sandbox, Frog, Rocket launcher, transformer, & an Adidas sweat suit.
BOWLING
Mckay picked bowling for what he wanted to do for his birthday. He LOVES it and Ky even had fun this time. Then after wards we went out for ice cream at Country Boy.

Mckay started following the ball down alley, but he figured it out by his next turn.
They both had so much fun....one game took us FOREVER though. I feel bad for all the people who were in lanes next to us because Ky kept trying to take all their balls and I was constanly chasing her around...I didn't want her to drop any on her toes!

Shoes & Princess Rooms

Monday, August 25, 2008

My little girl LOVES shoes...she is OBSESSED! Anytime there are any shoes out she will wear them. This is her favorite pair for the moment...it used to be Craig's big church shoes. She has so much fun playing with them, so it gives me hope that maybe I will get my little girlie girl after all :) I already did a scrapbook layout if you want to see it, it's on my scrapbook blog.

KYLIN'S NEW ROOM
If you all know me, you know that I always HAVE to have a project. Well, I found this way cute comforter at Ikea for only $4, So I bought 2 of them. One for her bed and one to make curtains out of. I know I just finished her purple room only 7-months ago, but the purple didn't match and I wanted to do a chair rail...So I decided to re-do her room! Now it is a BIG girl room & she LOVES it, especially her bed :) I did it for WAY CHEAP too! I made pretty much everything or bought it through KSL or thrift stores (you would be so proud Tausha). This was my first chair rail...THANKS so much for helping me Craigers :) So, here it is...one more project done. I really like how happy and colorful it is. I REALLY need to do Mckay's room now.

I got her bed for only $10 from KSL and painted it pink. It's nice cause it has rails and it really close to the ground (she never falls out though) and the pictures are 16x20 & made from digital scrapbook paper and framed. I'm sure it is too small to see, but the comforter & curtains have cute little fairies & bugs on them.

The canopy I got off ebay and was only $5 and I made the the pink fluffy pillow. The saying says, "A dream is a wish your heart makes..." from Cinderella.

You can't see the saying under the shelf very well in this picture (you can see them good in real life) it says, "I didn't ask to be a princess I just am!"

The rocking chair was only $10 and I got it off KSL and painted it pink. The cabinet I already had and just painted it green. It holds some books and blankets. I made the lamp shade for her other room and it still matches. and the blanket to match her pillow.

Mckay's Party & The Zoo!

Saturday, August 23, 2008

Mckay had his birthday party today...his first one with friends! I think that it went pretty well, he had LOTS of fun and I think the kids did too! Not bad for my first kids party. He wanted a froggie party, so we got him all green plates, cups, balloons, and froggie cupcakes. I didn't get to take very many pictures at all because I was so busy, I didn't even get any of them playing or Mckay opening his presents...Oh well. There was a pinate, bubbles, water balloons, Lily Pad walk (cake walk) and fishing (where you throw over a pole and get little prizes). So, the kids were pretty busy. THANKS SOOOO MUCH to everyone that came...It meant A LOT to Mckay and I! Thanks Janna for your help getting stuff set up too :)

The invite...I cut the froggie out and made it pop out .

Mckay and the sun pinate...couldn't find a froggie one.

All kids collecting candy with their little bags....I think all the girls (including Ky) ate the most :)

Froggie cupcakes...The frosting dyed EVERYTHING!

Mac & Cheese for Lunch.

One of Mckay's Prizes he won fishing.

Cute Picture of Mckay's friend Aiden....that frosting really dyed everything...sorry Keli :)

THE HOOGLE ZOO

The kids and I went to the zoo with my friend Amy and her kids. We have been wanting to go for a long time, So I was glad we finally got a chance. Even though it was REALLY crowded and I forgot my diaper bag (with all the food and drinks...you are a life saver Amy) it was still LOTS of fun! By the end we were all super hot and tired...but it was worth it :)

we got to ride the little train around the Zoo.

I asked Mckay what his favorite thing about the zoo was and he said, "The do not feed the animal signs" The ENTIRE day all he wanted to do was see these signs and talk about them and why you shouldn't feed the animals. So, I had to get a picture of his with his favorite thing. hehe.

Ky loved posing in front of this gorilla. She was making everyone laugh!

The kids all really liked this big snake...especially Tyler. Ky's favorites were the normal alligators and she kept saying "Zebra" when she got home.

The famous Albino Alligator or is it crocodile?

I had to get a picture of Ky and her matching a Giraffe :) It was the best picture I could get considering a moving Ky and a moving Giraffe. She LOVES giraffe's!

Edward Cullen

Monday, August 18, 2008

Anyone who has read the Twilight series, knows that name. :) Ok, so this is the MOST RANDOM post ever...and I know you are all gonna think I am crazy silly, but I finished reading the first "Twilight" book again recently and have been trying to come up with an Edward picture in my head because I am trying to get out of my head the actor they picked to play to him in the up coming movie, he just doesn't work for me at all! Well, today I watched the movie "August Rush" and one of the main actors in it is this guy...TOTALLY who I picture as Edward. So, I thought I would share :) hehe. I am so silly I know, but now I have an Edward picture in my head instead of that other actor. I know he is a little bit older than Edward probably, but oh well. Much easier to visualize when I am reading the books. :0) Don't worry....I still love and think my husband is the hottest guy in the world...I really do sweetie!

This is from August Rush...really good movie, you should all check it out.

What we have been up to...

Friday, August 15, 2008

It has been a little while since I have posted, mostly because there hasn't been too much going on. Right now it is 3 a.m. and I CAN'T sleep cause Craig is in our room snoring, he usually doesn't snore, but tonight I've woken him up twice and he will roll over and snore some more. I am gonna be tired tomorrow :)

Anyways, Since the Olympics have been on I have been watching them non-stop after the kids go to bed. That is the beauty of a DVR I can watch whatever events I want and fast forward the rest. I am so into watching indoor and Outdoor volleyball, the US teams only usually. I am in love with Walsh/May and Michael Phelps right now :) They are just amazing! I sit there and jump and scream at my TV. For those of you who know me well, know I LOVE sports and I especially love volleyball...I also watch Basketball & gymnastics too.

Michael Phelps is a freaking Machine...He hasn't lost once and has broken a record every time he has swam!

Also, in the past week we have been to a couple fairs, the Morgan Fair, Weber County, & Davis County Fair. The kids LOVE them and they are cheap! I only have taken a couple pictures though because I forgot my camera at some of them :) But here are some pictures...

This is Mckay's first time not being scared of the horses...his first time riding alone. Ky on the other hand was not scared AT ALL. She was smiling the entire time and didn't want to get off.

They had a huge sand pit there that the kids loved playing in. It is funny how kids can sit and be entertained by sand forever! He was so proud of his volcano, which later got destroyed.

They had a petting zoo there and of course Ky wasn't scared. She kept patting the goat on the head. Kailey almost got kicked in the face by a huge cow...it was really scary and we are glad she has angels watching over her :)

We went to this fair with my sister and her kids. Mckay LOVES his cousins and it is always so much fun when they get to be together!

Mckay and his cotton Candy (look at his dirt tears from when his volcano got destroyed in the sand box). Ky loved her cotton candy too...she was covered in pink by the end and was eating it like she had never eaten a day in her life.

They had these cool wiggle cars a a booth, so of course "The kids" had to try them out :)
