THE OCEAN...PORT ARANSAS

Ever since we moved here back in July, I have been DYING to go to the ocean. It is a 3 hour drive and with Craig's crazy schedule we hadn't made the trip. Finally a couple weeks ago we went! I have a slight obsession with  the ocean and didn't care we had to drive so far to see it. Once we got to Corpus Christi we stopped at a really cool shell shop that had thousands of every shell you could think of.  The guy that runs the shop was a real interesting character, thank goodness Craig was in the car with Pip or he might have punched the guy in the face....and I will leave it at that.  After that we explored the tiny town for a bit and then took a short ferry ride over to this beautiful beach. On the ferry we saw a few dolphins   I've never been that close to wild dolphins before and it was pretty cool.

When we got to the beach I was prepared to just let the kids play in the sand and put their feet in the water for a bit, I had no idea how warm it would be! I guess I expected it to be cold like most the beaches I had been to in October. It was like a heated swimming pool and I didn't even bring the kids suits. So they just ran through the water with their clothes on and that was fine by me. We had a GREAT time and stayed till it got dark. We ate at the most amazing restaurant right on the beach and it turned out to be a pretty perfect day.

Mckay always has fun collecting shells...and Ky always has fun dancing.

Piper, of course is running around everywhere singing at the top of her lungs. This song was "Part of Your World"  from "The Little Mermaid". Which, was totally appropriate. :)

I am probably going to have to sleep on the couch tonight for posting these pictures, but I couldn't help it. This is what happens when you don't smile and make weird faces when I try and take a picture of you Craig. May you all be forewarned! bawhaha.

Them all wearing stripes was not planned, I think I just have an obsession with stripes.
